Check the awards link and photos to see all our great winners! A highlight of the tournament: Dan Stock accepting his prize with a yellow flower over his ear!

A surprise this year: Bob Schoeneman, he handed out the Rose Award to this year's winner, Cheryl Tyler (Lubbock, TX). He also gave a dozen roses to past year's winner: Katya Lezin (Charlotte, NC), Deborah Gaudier (Mary Rhoades accepted for her), and Lilla Sinanan (Stoney Creek ON) (who had already left, so Shelley Ubeika (Mississauga ON) accepted them for her). It was great to have Bob here and to have him speak so fondly of Rose. I'm sure Cheryl will treasure her crystal trophy.

A couple of un notes: Alan Stern (Shadow Hills, CA) called Jason Idalski "John Idalski" when he introduced him. At the mike, Jason said, "I thought it was enough to coach him on the pronunciation of my last name!" After his awards were handed out, Jason returned the favor by returning the mike to Andy Stern.

When division 2's second place finisher, [error: no such id: artmoore] came up for his check and photo op, he got a standing ovation. And then, Shelley Ubeika (Mississauga ON) ran up and gave him the dozen roses she was carrying. It was fitting. He says he lives 15 mins away and his wife will love them.

Well, we made it through another NSC. Thanks to the great committee, volunteers, and a special thanks to Dallas and his wife, Sue.
