The NASPA Advisory Board has ratified December 1st, 2014 as the date on which the next edition of OTCWL will take effect. Copies will be available for sale to members at the 2014 National SCRABBLE Championship.
The NASPA Rating software has been updated so that it now automatically assigns initial ratings to players based on their existing rating in the other lexicon, if they have tournament experience but are new to CSW or TWL play. In conducting a thorough review of how the previous manual process had been implemented, we found several cases in which players had incorrectly been treated as entirely new to tournament play. We have therefore had to take the extraordinary measure of rerating all tournaments beginning at the earliest such incident (July 1, 2011) and proceeding to the present day. We apologize for the inconvenience; please understand that the measure was important for maintaining the consistency and accuracy of our rating system.
NASPAWiki has a new look, thanks to some help from Walking Stick Communications Inc., a website design and development company.
We have updated the MediaWiki software that runs NASPAWiki from version 1.20 to version 1.22. Please report any related issues to us at info@scrabbleplayers.org.

GEOCACHE v -CACHED, -CACHING, -CACHES to search for hidden items by using a Global Positioning System device as part of a game.
Hasbro announced on Good Morning America that GEOCACHE defeated ZEN to win the showdown. GEOCACHE will be acceptable at the 2014 National School SCRABBLE Championship and the 2014 National SCRABBLE Championship.
Hasbro has announced the first ever SCRABBLE Word Showdown; this resulted in a few media hits for NASPA.
The NASPA Advisory Board approved a new version of the Code of Conduct. While the new CoC took effect on January 2, 2014, it was just posted to the NASPA wiki, so will only apply for any disciplinary matters arising after February 27, 2014.
Beginning this month, the Word of the Day and all rated tournaments will be automatically tweeted from the NASPA Twitter account, @NASPA.
