International Committee

The International Committee is a NASPA committee. Its mandate is to manage the association's relationship with organizations and events outside the United States and Canada. To contact the committee, please send an email message to naspa-international@yahoogroups.com.

Structure

The committee is cochaired by a Canadian player and an American player. The American cochair is responsible for committee activities pertaining to American participation in events outside the United States and Canada. (The corresponding Canadian responsibility is held by the chair of the Canadian Committee.)

Agenda

  • Liaise with other national peer bodies such as the ABSP
  • Liaise with WESPA
  • Set criteria for selecting members for U.S. national teams competing in major international events. (The criteria for Canadian teams are set by Canadian Committee).
  • Maintain the naspa-usacollins mailing list for American players interested in the Collins lexicon.
  • Maintain the naspa-international-usa mailing list for American members of the committee.

Activity

  • 2017-04-28 Working on reciprocal membership agreements with the Hong Kong Scrabble Players Association and the Trinidad and Tobago Scrabble Association.
  • 2010-08-15 Committee name changed from NASPA-WESPA Liaison Committee to International Committee
  • 2010-06-09 2010 Causeway Challenge US Qualification System
  • 2009-10-08 NASPA Joins WESPA
