Finals 3.

Adam has BLMNNSZ. He trades.

Tony plays YAUTiAS and the crowd loves this opening game bingo.

Adam now has EERSTTZ. He plays ZEST, and we like it.

Tony has DDGEMOS and missed DODGEMS. Robin says it is a hard word to find.

Adam has AIRSTBE and he plays BESTIARY as we all knew he would!

Tony has IIDGNPR and misses BIRDING, as Maven likes. He plays BIDING on the triple.

Adam has AFJOOPR. And Robin and Maven and Adam agree. :) Adam plays PROOF.

Tony has EHINPRV. I hear Robin says, "I'm not crazy about VIPER. This is the kind of rack I like to play off a few tiles and get a blank, it has that kind of energy to it." David likes HEP. He plays VIPER.

Adam has AAJLOQU, he is down by 22, 166-144. I heard people say QUAIL. He plays QUA, everyone likes it.

Tony as EEHNNPU. Robin hears someone say UNPEN but there is no place to play it. Zev suggests PUNT. Robin likes it a lot. I'm told that Tony is shuffling tiles, he tells me the play is 18 points. Tony plays PEEN.

Adam has AAAJLOT. Everyone likes JATO and that is what Adam plays.

222-184.

Tony has EHIMNNU, he is down and everyone wants to find a great play. Consensus that he needs to dump the U. He plays HIN. Robin says it is a curious choice as it blocks the board but Dave chimes in that it isnt't a bad idea with Adam.

Adam has AAILLNU. Adam plays ANA and underscores himself by one point and Tony corrects him. We all call him the "Cinderella Man" for being so courteous.

Score now 253-207.

Tony has EEMNOUY. Robin thinks up a word, but it is British and a phoney so we stop going down that lane. Tony plays UNABIDING* and Adam holds. Robin thinks Adam might let it go. John Chew in the playing room says Adam is chewing his collar. We hope that since Adam is in love, he will think this is plausible. He challenges, off it comes. The whole room here does a collective, "Ahhhhh...."

Turns out that Tony was biting his nails while Adam was chewing his collar: an oral fixation in there.

Adam has ILLRTUV. Evan has to speak forcefully to get his word heard by Robin. He wanted a T off of MOD for MODEST. Adam has traded all but the T and we like it.

Tony has those same tiles again. David suggests DOYEM. Robin says it is tricky and lovely. He plays DEY for 19.

Adam has FGIKNOT. He plays TOKING, which is what Robin saw and liked.

Tony has EHMNOSU. I hear Sal say HOUSEMAN. Robin says the board needs to be opened. She sees the S in VIPER and would like to see more words. MENU is what is suggested. Tony plays MUSH/VIPERS. I hear "interesting." Some like his leave.

Adam has DEEFLLW. Robin likes FELLOWED, but no O for it. Evan suggests FELLED. He does that. A big opening!

Tony has EENOOR?. Robin sees ENROOTED. We want him to play OvERDONE. He misses it.

Adam has ABEEELW. We wonder if he will play WEEDABLE*. He plays ABELE and Robin is shocked. Joel says he is just trying to get a big enough lead to put it away.

Tony holds CEEIOR?. The crowd suggest RECOILS, REJOICE. He plays REJOICE. We like it.

343-337. Tony's lead.

Adam holds AICEGUW. GWEDUC is what Robin suggests. Robin asks if there is a way for Adam to block.

David suggests Adam wants the hooks for REJOICE. Robin disagrees. She says she thinks this is Tony's game.

Adam plays AWE, Maven's choice. We like it, but Robin prefered a block of REJOICE and then this play next time.

Tony has ADILORW. And if he has tracked right, he knows Adam has a lot of consonants. Tony plays WADI. Robin thinks is is quetionable, but if he doesn't know rejoicer, this is the correct play.

Adam has VXTICGU. Robin thinks Adam is "toast." We don't think Adam will find Maven's find of AQUATIC, which makes HINT.

Adam is rechecking his tracking, writing on a hidden piece of paper, says John Chew in that room.

Joel suggests VEX setting up a T hook...

Adam plays EVICT... what do we think?

Tony now has LORR. He plays RE. Do we like it? We don't know.... We think it is six of one and half a dozen for another.

Adam has GUX. We think XI next to VIPER.

Tony plays out with ROLL.

407-405. Robin thinks there ought to be one.

No recount, 20 min break.

Tony Leah (Ajax ON) beats Adam Logan (United Kingdom) 407-405 and trails 2-1. See recorded game.
