The NASPA Word List 2018 Edition (NWL2018) is the first word list developed and edited by NASPA, and the official lexicon governing competitive play in the United States and Canada beginning March 1, 2019. It replaces OTCWL2016.

An early version of the New Words Self-Print Edition included deleted words among the lists of words of two to eight letters; it was replaced after Steven Alexander reported the issue on 2019-01-07. This version was then replaced on 2019-01-08, after Marlon Hill noticed extraneous words out of sequence at the end of the main list.
The Advisory Board has determined that this edition will take effect on March 1, 2019.
As soon as OTCWL2016 went to press, the Dictionary Committee began reviewing the longer words that had been proposed for inclusion in that edition, but omitted due to time constraints.
This edition includes new words from three sources:
86 previously acceptable words were nominated for review; 12 of them were removed when no evidence was found supporting their original addition.
This edition includes 3,385 new words: 2 two-letter words, 1 three-letter word, 4 four-letter words, 23 five-letter words, 49 six-letter words, 65 seven-letter words, 88 eight-letter words, 181 nine-letter words, 1263 ten-letter words, 840 eleven-letter words, 415 twelve-letter words, 200 thirteen-letter words, 147 fourteen-letter words, and 107 fifteen-letter words. Complete lists of new words and definitions can be found in Member Services.
The following 12 words were deleted: CAZHER CAZHEST DREKKISH HALIOTES HALIOTISES INAPTER INAPTEST RABIESES SAPIDER SAPIDEST SUETIER SUETIEST.
