+ | A question was posed to the Championship Committee as to which Collins lexicon will be used in the 2015 NASC. All NASPA tournaments must be played to NASPA rules. Currently, NASPA rules provide the following with respect to the Collins lexicon:

+ | VI.A. Word Reference | ||
+ | The word reference is the third edition of Collins Official Scrabble Words, first published in 2011, and commonly referred to as CSW2012.

A question was posed to the Championship Committee as to which Collins lexicon will be used in the 2015 NASC. All NASPA tournaments must be played to NASPA rules. Currently, NASPA rules provide the following with respect to the Collins lexicon:
VI.A. Word Reference The word reference is the third edition of Collins Official Scrabble Words, first published in 2011, and commonly referred to as CSW2012.
As those rules will remain in effect through the dates of the NASC, CSW2012 will be the lexicon in use in the Collins divisions of that event.
Even if the rules are updated with an effective date on or before the start of the NASC, the CSW2012 lexicon will be used, unless the use of that lexicon is prohibited by the rules (which is not anticipated, since the international date of adoption of the CSW2012 lexicon is September 1, 2015).
For TWL divisions, the OTCWL2014 will be in use, pursuant to the Advisory Board ruling modifying NASPA rules to provide for an April 10, 2015 effective date for that lexicon.
The peak rating period for the North American SCRABBLE Championship has been shortened to the period from August 9, 2014 to July 22, 2015 (the start of last year's Championship to the close of registration).
The criteria for establishing two divisions for Collins have also been changed, as follows: if fewer than 20 players register in either division, the director reserves the discretion to adjust the ratings cutoff to provide for two divisions of at least 20 players each, or to combine the divisions into a single Collins division. If time permits, the affected players will be polled for their preference.
Registration for the 2015 North American SCRABBLE Championship is expected to open on or before February 1, 2015.
