Reporting from WSC 1999, Jane Williams of the NSA...
At 8am a few short announcements were made by Tournament Director Wilma Vialle. She directed the Australian National Championship as well as Singapore. Everyone has pretty well adjusted to his or her various time changes and are anxious to begin play.Seated at Table One Round 1 were Jim Nanavati (CAN) and Joel Sherman (USA). Jim at the very last minute filled in for Zev Kaufman . Zev sadly is suffering from a severely pinched nerve and couldn't travel the long distance. As you can imagine JN is thrilled to be part of the Canadian Team and be here.
Adam Logan scored the Highest word GRAVEST 101 pt in Round One with Nigel Richards matching it with COINHERE also 101 pts. High game was Ronald Credo (Philippines) 592
