Round 6

Division 2's Mason Shambach (Battle Creek, MI) had a nice game this round, defeating Mike Frentz (Seattle, WA), 383-351. I spy Mason's EROTIZe for 78 and NAVAIdS for 90. Mike played MASTERS for 68 and is proud that he managed to come back at all in the game as he was down by 180 at one point.

I'm pulled over to see a 11-letter word in division 3 and my toes are tingling in anticipation. And there it is: OVERSALTINg for 89 points! Mary Atwood (Roseville, MN) played OVER on the top left triple and Jessie extended it with SALTING to create this LONG word! Jessie also got down TeNSION for 69 and ROSIEST for 75 and he earned the game win, too, 458-323.

Back up at division 1, Dave Wiegand (Portland, OR) is on fire. He defeated his Anagrams championship finalist buddy, Peter Armstrong (Baltimore, MD), 485-452. The board is a site to behold in its parallel spendor. If my notes are to be believed, Dave played HOLYTIDE from the H, READYING through the N, VoIDANCE to the E, and ESPAnOL. No slouch himself, Peter got down ANTIGENS from the A and ANTEROOM to the M.

Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (Thailand), Brian Cappelletto (Chicago, IL), and Dave Wiegand (Portland, OR) are all 6-0 in division 1. Yeah!
