This does not mean changing a score because something that was miscounted or misadded or that you forgot to add an overtime penalty before they turned in the result slip. It does mean that if they wrote a different score than what was recorded on the scoresheets, or reversed the scores, this can be changed after the result slip has been turned in.

Officially sanctioned SCRABBLE® play in Canada and the United States must obey the Official Tournament Rules, edited by the Rules Committee.

Several rule changes become effective August 1, 2009 (not July 1, 2009, as originally announced). Please read the list of changes carefully.

IMPORTANT: This is a clarification from the Rules Committee regarding rules that refer to "reporting error" when turning in result slips. This does not mean changing a score because something that was miscounted or misadded or that you forgot to add an overtime penalty before they turned in the result slip. It does mean that if they wrote a different score than what was recorded on the scoresheets, or reversed the scores, this can be changed after the result slip has been turned in.
