Jane also mentions that Deb Burns from Merriam-Webster, Inc., and Dana Henry of Hasbro Interactive have stopped by to visit us today.
I see boards in progress. Board 1 in division 2 has Sally Ricketts vs. Joseph Connelly. Their board has BASTERS and LUCERNe on it. A division 1 board where David Stone is challenging Trip Payne, I see ORRERIES and DONATION.
Division 1 players, Rick Wong (CA) and Mike Baron (AZ), both tell me they are 3-3. A good, even place to be. Mike told me that he'd just won a game against Gordon Shapiro, 434-342. Mike opened with PAVAnES and then shortly afterwards played AUDINES.
Iffy Onyeonwe (TX) tells me that he is now 3-3 in division 1. He beat Margaret Bauer-Williams, Marty Marcus, and Michael Baker. He lost to Randy Greenspan, Adam Logan, and Chris Cree. In his his next game he plays Joel Sherman!
Kaye Kiker (AL) just beat Mary Lou Thurman and is now 3-3.
Jim Geary, now 4-2, says,"I'm only beating people my age." These wins were against David Stone and John Luebkemann. Jim now plays Trip Payne.
Marjorie Schoneboom in division 1 just had a monster win! She beat Luise Shafritz with a whopping 605-343. It is a rare game that goes up to 948 points! In the same division, Ron Tiekert just defeated Carol Kaplan, 370-364. She played EPINASTY and Ron got down OINOmEL.
This round saw Seattlites Christina O'Sullivan and Eileen Gruhn (both in Division 2) playing each other. Christina won this one, 368-242.
