Back to 1998 Tournaments
1998 NSC
From August 8th to 13th, 1998, this page contained the
first-time ever continuously updated Internet coverage
of our National SCRABBLE® Championship. Reporting from the Championship
ballroom at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, was Internet
Reporter and NSC Committee member Sherrie Saint John. Sherrie, a
SCRABBLE® player herself, is the
adminstratrix of CGP (an Internet mailing list for tournament
SCRABBLE® players), and works as an online
editorial consultant in Massachusetts.
In partnership with official Webmaster John Chew, she posted
round-by-round results of all four divisions, as well as coverage of tournament
news and special personality features. Our site, complete with digital
photography, was the closest thing to being there. Don't miss it!
While minor revisions are still being made to this page, we're
now looking forward to NSC 2000. As announced in Chicago,
NSC 2000, to be hosted by
Hasbro and the NSA,
will be at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island,
from August 5th to August 10th, 2000.
See the NSC 2000 page for details.
