The first state-wide School SCRABBLE^® Championship was held on Saturday, November 14th, 1998 at the Civic Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. As of Tuesday evening, photos are all captioned, and color commentary is going up.

The top five teams at the end of the tournament were:
